First look at Subaru's Latest Solterra and Uncharted Models

Over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of October, we had the chance to be among the first to see and drive Subaru’s exciting new models: the Solterra and the Uncharted.

On the 12th, we headed to the famous Jerez racing circuit in Spain, where we put both cars through their paces. From taking the Uncharted on a rugged off-road course to testing speed and handling on the track, we got a real feel for what these new models can do.

First impressions? The design updates are stunning. These cars don’t just look the part — they feel premium too, just as you’d expect from Subaru. Sleek new lighting details tie in beautifully with the classic six-star Subaru badge, and for the first time, the rear badge has been replaced with the model name, giving the back end a clean, modern look.

Inside, both cabins feel comfortable and well thought out, with a great mix of practicality and luxury.

Performance-wise, we were seriously impressed. Both the all-wheel drive and two-wheel drive versions delivered plenty of power and handled beautifully. We also tried out the regenerative braking and one-pedal driving in city-like conditions — smooth, efficient, and easy to get used to.

What really stood out, though, was just how connected you feel to the car when you're driving. It brought back a sense of fun and engagement that’s often missing in modern EVs. In fact, it reminded us a bit of the thrill you’d get behind the wheel of a classic WRX STI Impreza — but now in an electric package.

We’re genuinely excited about what’s coming, and we think you will be too. Pre-orders are opening soon, so if you’re interested, don’t wait.
